Sculpture for the Garden
Sculptures in marble and Portland stone are ideal for outdoor display as they weather well and will last forever with a little care. The sculptures are finished with intensive polishing to achieve a matt finish, and this makes the stone less porous and so less easily stained. After polishing, each piece is given a protective coat of PVA and water to seal it, and when dry, a final polishing with the finest grade wire wool, followed by a further protective layer of beeswax. If the sculpture does get stained, by bird droppings for example, a normal household washing up liquid should remove it, and it can then be buffed up again.
